Debra Yates is known for the abstract nature of her bold mixed media paintings.  Compositional balance is achieved through a strong sense of line, color and shape with the use of diverse materials to construct assemblages of both primitive and modern elements.  With a B.A. from Florida State University, the Florida based artist has created numerous public art projects including the Key West International Airport Terminal, the Millennium Mall in Orlando, Florida and the Miami International Airport.  Her paintings are in the collections of Neiman Marcus, the Nissan Corporation (Los Angeles),  and Eastern National Bank (Miami).
